News release: Friday 26th August: Love Manchester – Love Your Bike

news release

On Friday 26th August, Love Your Bike are inviting people to join one of the Bike Friday [1] cycle routes and attach the ‘I Love MCR’ logo to their bicycle to show the world that the people of Manchester are proud of their city on ‘We Love MCR’ day. [2]

Bike Friday combines a range of cycle rides into the City Centre from various locations across Manchester and also works with companies and local authorities in Greater Manchester to promote cycling, improve cycle facilities and to encourage more people to continue cycling to school, work and for leisure all year round.

Catherine Thomson from Love Your Bike said:

“Cycling is a great way to travel to work, to the shops or for leisure. Join in one of the Bike Friday cycle routes and show that you Love Manchester and that’s why you choose healthy, pollution-free transport.”

The Bike Friday rides finish in Manchester City Centre by The Titchy Coffee Co, High Street, Manchester City Centre, M4 1EY.  Dr Mary will be on hand to provide a Dr Bike session for any bicycles in need of care and attention.  Fairtrade refreshments will be available from the Titchy Coffee Co for any cyclists in need of refuelling.

Photo opportunity: Friday 26th August, 8.40am. Love Your Bike cyclists and ‘I Love MCR’ posters. The Titchy Coffee Co, High Street, Manchester City Centre, M4 1EY.
