Launch of Love Your Bike Campaign

Manchester Friends of the Earth launched a high profile campaign called ‘Love Your Bike’ on Tuesday 21st March 2006 to promote cycling in Manchester.

There were billboards and back of bus adverts carrying the message that cycling to work is quicker, saves money and keeps you fit. As part of the launch there was a photo shoot at 8am on 21st March on the Chester Road / Mancunian Way roundabout – see below for photos.

We got good media coverage for this campaign as a whole and for this photo shoot / press call in particular. The campaign will promote cycling in a positive way and hopefully build a platform for future campaigning by demonstrating the potential for more cycling in Manchester but also questioning the existing facilities in the city.
