UN climate talks – what’s happening in Manchester and beyond?
The UN Climate Talks are due to take place in Glasgow in early November. For some background on what the talks are about please see our summary, including Friends of the Earth’s concerns over the UK’s current plans for investment in the fossil fuel industry.
See also the recently published report “The Big Con: How Big Polluters are advancing a “net zero” climate agenda to delay, deceive, and deny” co-produced by Corporate accountability, Global Forrest Coalition and Friends of the Earth International.

Check out these ‘COP26 special’ podcasts- ‘Ecology – Tales from the Field’ from local ecologist, Tim Body.
The last three episodes look at the Climate Crisis from three angles: science; psychology; and activism, and are made with COP in mind. Three interviews with three interesting, inspiring experts in their respective fields.
There’s a Facebook group with show notes for the episodes (and previous episodes, all nature themed). Just search for ‘Ecology – Tales from the Field’.
While a lot of activists will be travelling to Glasgow for the talks, that won’t be possible for everyone. Luckily there is plenty happening in Manchester- we have started to compile a list of these below – please let us know if we have missed any.
