Where? St. Ann's Square
Why? To highlight the exclusion of emissions from international aviation and shipping from the Climate Change Bill...

On Saturday 5th April, a group of performers from Friends of the Earth and Christian Aid put on a street theatre performance to highlight the exclusion of emissions from international aviation from the Climate Change Bill.

The performance started with a plane coming in to land in St. Ann's Square. Dressed as pilots and an air hostess, the performers sung "Come on Gordon, deal with aviation" to the tune of The Locomotion.

A number of comic sketches and songs followed, as the air crew tried to persuade Gordon Brown to sign a climate bill that included aviation emissions, and passers-by who stopped to watch the performance were also encouraged to send a message to the real Gordon Brown by filling in a plane-shaped postcard.
