Demand a Climate Budget

take action

The Chancellor must show that he’s serious about the Paris climate agreement.

George Osborne is preparing his next Budget for March. Significantly, he’s asking you – the public – to send him ideas for what should be included.

Please ask him to make this the Climate Budget.

In Paris last December the UK joined 195 world leaders in pledging to try and limit global temperature rises to 1.5 degrees.

Climate Budget - George Osborne and green boxGeorge Osborne’s Budget on March 16th is the first big UK political moment since Paris.
He must give us a Budget that delivers on the Government’s climate promises.

Action has to start now. Big decisions will have to be made differently by all governments, in particular rich nations like the UK.   That includes ending his attacks on green energy, making sure we spend enough on insulating homes and flood defences, and scrapping all fossil fuel subsidies.

We’ve listed some things that the Chancellor should do in an email (see link below). Please add your own ideas and send them to George Osborne.

Please email the Government now!
