Basic Bicycle Maintenance – Stockport College
Our Cycle Maintenance starter course will give you the knowledge to check your bike is safe to ride and enable you to cope if you have a problem whilst out and about. It is best to bring your own bike but let us know if you need one providing. The course lasts around two hours and our qualified instructor might cover;
- What the parts of your bike are – and what they do
- Things you should check before each ride
- Simple adjustments – e.g. brakes and gears to make sure they work smoothly and safely
- Tools you might need and how to use them
- How to mend punctures
- Cleaning and lubrication
The course will be facilitated by CERA Ltd and Woodsons Cycles Edgeley. You will find the bespoke workshop in the Vernon Centre located within the college.
On Foot – use the main college entrance and sign in at reception.
If you are arriving with your bike; From Wellington Road South proceed along Greek Street, then left into Royal George Street. The college car park is on the left. Pass through the barrier and the gated entrance ahead, then bear right and the Vernon Centre is the second building on your right. – Street View If the cycle gate at the rear of the college is closed go to the main entrance on the A6
In a vehicle; drive to Royal George Street (off Greek Street). Go to college car park entrance, lift hand set at barrier, request to visit Cycloan.
Parking in Stockport College car park may be limited please arrive early enough to find alternative parking if you are driving to this training event
