Breeze to the Match (free ticket included!)

Fancy showing your support for women’s football for free? As part of British Cycling and the FA’s Kick Start Your Ride initiative, Manchester City WFC are offering free tickets if you join us on a Breeze ride to the match. City are playing Arsenal Ladies in a WSL1 match. We have a secure spot to lock our bikes inside the athletics stadium during the match.

We’ll set off from Failsworth Sports Centre and head along road for a short stretch before joining the Rochdale Canal towpath. Near the stadium there is another short spell on quiet roads before we arrive. After the match we’ll head back along the same route. The route is just 4 miles each way.

Newcomers to Breeze rides are very welcome. We’ll always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. Children are also welcome on this ride but please be aware that younger ones, especially on bikes with stabilizers, might struggle to keep up.

This route is suitable for all bike types. Please make sure your bike is in good working order. We will do a quick bike check before we set off. It’s a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack. Dress appropriately for the weather: hopefully sun cream will be necessary but a rain jacket is a good idea too! Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not worry you can still take part. If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then. Please note all children under the age of 16 MUST wear a helmet.

Places are limited so please book online.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is listed in our cycling events calendar for Greater Manchester. It is not organised by Manchester Friends of the Earth nor the Love Your Bike campaign and does not necessarily reflect their policies. We recommend checking with the organisers in case of a change of time or location.
