Chorlton Wanderers – Wander to Astley

Info from the ride leader Josh:-

Hi all,  I’ll be leading our next wander, this Sunday. Riding on flat quiet roads, bike paths and disused railway lines, we’ll experience industrial landscapes, parkland and everything that Greater Manchester has to offer as we ride to Astley.

There are no hills, but there will be some gentle undulations and loose gravel on parts of the ride. We’ll also cross Chat Moss, which has a mile or so of potholes. Therefore, bring a comfortable working bike but I have ridden the whole thing on a road bike. Please also check it over before the day including checking for any embedded glass in tyres that could lead to a puncture.

Need to know:

* Total distance will be up to 35 miles
* Around 15 miles to lunch at the Old Boathouse Pub at 12.30
* Warm sunny weather forecast, so bring water & consider sunscreen
* Meet at Chorlton Water Park, Sunday at 10 am for a 10.15 prompt departure.

Any questions, do drop me a line and I’ll be happy to answer.

Cheers,  Josh
