Community Connects – How the grid works (Electricity North West)
This workshop is designed to help delegates get an insight into the issues affecting the electricity distribution grid, how they are managed and the potential impact on community and local energy projects. It is for non-electrical engineers with an interest in the subject who want to understand how it can impact or benefit your project.
It will give an overview of the structure of the electricity grid, explain grid capacity, how it is measured and managed. It will talk through the process for handling grid connection applications and introduce heat maps which show the available capacity on the network.
