East Lancashire Road Club / Rochdale CTC – ‘A’ Ride (17mph)

Our Club runs cater for riders of all abilities. The majority of the rides depart from Rochdale Leisure Center on Sundays at 9:30am. There is also a Beginners (‘D’) Ride that departs from the same venue on Saturday mornings. Beginners rides follow a short distance on a local route at a slow pace.

Sunday morning rides are broken into three categories:

  • ‘A’ rides are around 50 miles at a fast pace (17+mph) without a stop and are predominantly used for training.
  • ‘B’ rides are around 50 miles at a slower pace (13+ mph) with a cafe stop.
  • ‘C’ rides cover approximately 30 miles at a gentle pace of around 10+ mph.
  • ‘D’ rides cover approximately 20 miles at the speed of the slowest rider. These rides leave on Saturday mornings at 9:30am from Rochdale Leisure Center.

Each ride is lead by a trained Ride Leader and are covered by the Club’s riding rules. These can be found here. It is the Club’s policy never to leave a rider behind on ‘B’, ‘C’ and Beginners (‘D’) Rides
