Greater Manchester Strategy Refresh – consultation with the VCSE (voluntary, community and social enterprise) Sector

Andrew Lightfoot, Strategic Director Public Service Reform, Greater Manchester Combined Authority will be our keynote speaker at the event below.

What is meant by “inclusive economic growth”? This is a really important question, in a situation where growth in Greater Manchester has so far had no impact on inequalities or poverty. There is a real ambition amongst elected leaders, which many of us will share, to create a city region that is more economically, socially and politically inclusive.

If Greater Manchester is to adopt this as an ambition, what would be different? And how would we know whether we were getting closer?

We now have an opportunity as the VCSE (voluntary, community and social enterprise) sector to contribute to developing the document, prior to the second and final open consultation in March. The Strategy is a crucial document, as it is the framework for all other GM strategies and for devolution.

This event will bring together VCSE leaders with an interest in inclusion, to explore the role of our sector in developing and delivering it. The discussions will contribute to the content of the final draft of the Strategy.
