MCR stands with PNR #4, Preston New Road
On Saturday 11th November there will be another chance to show your solidarity with the campaign against fracking at Preston New Road. There will be a coach provided from Manchester. We will be holding a rally at Maple farm followed by a protest outside the fracking site.
We want this to be a solidarity day with a focus on trades unions and climate jobs, but of course we want to encourage everyone to come and bring their families, friends, colleagues, neighbours, dogs… Activists from across the North West are especially invited to join us.
Local activists at Preston New Road have been an inspiration, protesting at the site continuously since January. The trip is a chance to swell their numbers for the day, and to show solidarity from across the North West. Cuadrilla are way behind schedule and have not yet started fracking; and that resistance is growing both at PNR and at Kirby Misperton in Yorkshire. Fracking has been banned in Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and we in England do not want filthy, climate destroying fracking either!
Clara Paillard (President, Culture Sector, PCS union)
Don Naylor, Stockport Unison
Tina Rothery, Lancashire anti-fracking Nana
Speakers from Unite, BFAWU (bakers’ union) and other unions invited. Frack Free Greater Manchester, GM CCC and Tina Rothery are co-hosting the event.

Coach prices at £10 waged and £5 unwaged. If anyone is able to donate more on the day to cover the cost of the coach then this would be very helpful.
