Olinda Community Garden volunteering morning
Olinda Community Gardens grows organic food for the local community, creates areas of biodiversity and engages in community wellness through mindfulness and creativity.
We have 15 veg beds, a small polytunnel and using permaculture principles, run a small CSA veg box for local residents. Plans are in place to create a wellness / peace garden, food forest and outdoor kitchen. We also have 6 rare breed chickens!
Every Tuesday the garden is open to volunteers who come along and do various tasks including weeding, sowing seeds, planting out, preparing beds, moving compost and wood chip and chatting to & feeding the chickens. We start at 10am and generally finish around 12.30pm, many people bring lunch which we share together after our work. Sometimes we include a short meditation. Always we learn from one another and have fun!
Olinda Community Gardens is based at Red House Farm, Red House Lane, Dunham Massey, WA14 5RL.
We love meeting new people! If you would like to volunteer, please get in touch with Alice via email firstname.lastname@example.org or send a message through Instagram
