Ride Leader Training [Rochdale]

TfGM is offering people across Greater Manchester the opportunity to undertake FREE ride leader training.

This course may be of interest to people (aged 16+) involved with youth or community groups, cycle champions at workplaces looking to encourage colleagues to cycle to work, or club riders wishing to gain insight into leading rides. The course will equip people with the required skills to lead/supervise cycle rides. You need to be a competent cyclist to take part.

Subjects covered include:

  • Route planning
  • Risk assessments
  • Bicycle checks & helmet fitting
  • Role of a ride leader
  • Riding techniques
  • Dealing with incidents

Please note that this course is a mixture of theory and practical. You will need a bike (although one can be provided for you on request) and suitable clothes for riding.

Tea and coffee will be supplied but lunch is not provided

Places are limited so please book online.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is listed in our cycling events calendar for Greater Manchester. It is not organised by Manchester Friends of the Earth nor the Love Your Bike campaign and does not necessarily reflect their policies. We recommend checking with the organisers in case of a change of time or location.
