Road Rider Ready – Tameside Circuit, Ashton-under-Lyne

Are you a fairly confident off-road or recreational cyclist but not so sure about cycling on the road? This course is designed to meet the needs of those looking to take the next step. Held in a traffic free environment, our instructors will look to develop the skills necessary for you to cycle confidently, share space and integrate safely with other road users.

The course takes place with qualified instructors in a safe, off-road environment and lasts around two hours.

Road Ready Rider can help you with:

  • Preparing yourself and your bike for cycling on the road
    • Effective starting positions
    • Starting off, pedalling and stopping with control and consideration
    • Controlling the bike, use gears and manoeuvre safely around objects
    • Communicating with others
    • Looking all around and behind, and control the bike with one hand
    • Share space with pedestrians and other cyclists

Bikes and helmets will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Please note that these courses are only open to adults (16+).

Places are limited so please book online.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is listed in our cycling events calendar for Greater Manchester.
