CANCELLED: Salford Cycle Forum: special meeting to discuss proposed highway changes to Eccles Old Road near the hospital
Update: it has been agreed that the bus lanes (which are currently suspended) will be reinstated in January. It is expected that by this time the hospital will have made some crucial changes to its car parking arrangements, which should hopefully reduce the queuing on Eccles Old Road. Once the bus lanes have been reinstated, there will be a period of further monitoring to see if there is still an issue with congestion/queuing or if the parking changes have resolved the problem. If, after this monitoring period, there is a suggestion that the bus lanes should be amended/removed, we will ensure that we consult forum members before any final decisions are made.
In light of this, we have decided to cancel the meeting that was arranged for 16th November. Thank you to those who expressed an interest in coming
There will be a special meeting to discuss proposed highway changes to Eccles Old Road near the hospital. These proposals include removing/altering some stretches of bus lanes, junction alterations and car parking realignment.
If you would like to have a look at the proposals and make any comments, please come along to the meeting to discuss your ideas with the traffic engineers. This meeting will take place at 6pm in Committee Room 2 on Thursday 16th November.
Please confirm with me if you want to attend the meeting, as if there is insufficient interest we will cancel it.
Kind regards,
Rose
