Stockport Cycle Users Group: Sub Group meeting
Stockport Council’s Cycle Users Group (CUG) meets once a month in the Town Hall and provides an opportunity for members of the public, Council officers and Councillors to discuss aspects of cycling in Stockport.
General meetings (CUG) have a wide-ranging cycle related agenda; alternate month Sub-Group meetings focus on cycle input in highway scheme designs.
The meeting is held in Room 6 in Stockport Town Hall.
Agenda items below
- Growth Fund schemes
It was noted at the full CUG meeting on February 15th, that plans showing proposals for Otterspool Rd, and a link across Marple Road in the vicinity of Hall Pool Drive would be brought to the March sub-group meeting
Comment from the meeting will be fed back to Highways project leads. Whilst CUG comment on highways schemes has frequently been reflected in the final construction layout, it should be recognised that the Council cannot commit to any requests being incorporated into the designs
- Installation and mapping of cycle stands
The Council is currently co-ordinating with TfGM on two aspects of cycle parking:
- once funding is confirmed, providing additional cycle parking in locations likely to support cycling to local destinations, eg shops
- mapping existing cycle stands, including the number of stands at a given location
CUG members may particularly wish to assist in identifying locations for new cycle stands
- Public Rights of Way Improvement Plan consultation (RoWIP)
CUG members are already aware of this consultation, and are reminded to submit responses by March 17th
