Stockport Cycle User Group (CUG)

Currently, we have the option to make the July 20th sub-group meeting into a full CUG meeting in order to compensate – please look out for updates, and share thoughts you may have, regarding this

The Cycle User Group currently meets once per month in the Town Hall, and is open to all cyclists and others who have an interest in cycling.

It provides an opportunity for members of the public, Council officers and Councillors to discuss aspects of cycling in Stockport, and to suggest ways to further develop what is available to local cyclists.General meetings have a wide-ranging agenda that may include issues of transport policy, road safety and rights of way; alternate month sub-group meetings focus on the design of highway schemes from a cycling point of view.

Agenda items to follow:

September

* Cycle User Group terms of reference (continued)
To further discuss a framework within which the CUG can operate

* SEMMMS Refresh and Local Plan
The group has previously been notified of this consultation https://www.stockport.gov.uk/showcase/stockport-local-plan , which remains open until October 8th

* Stockport Walking and Cycling strategy
The process and timescale for this will be shared with the group

* Mobike
CUG members may be aware that this bike sharing scheme is being piloted in parts of Manchester and Salford – a few Mobikes are finding their way into Stockport. What next steps are being considered?

* Updates on Town Centre, Cycle City Ambition Grant (CCAG) and other schemes
