University of Manchester Bicycle User Group – Monthly Cycle ride

On the first Wednesday of the month, the Corridor partners (members of the Corridor Manchester Strategic Transport Group; Uni of Manchester, Man Met Uni, Central M/C NHS Trust and RN College of Music) host a celebration of cycling event aimed at rewarding current and actively encouraging newcomers.

All staff cyclists are welcome, whether they cycled in alone or with one of our 70+ volunteer buddies (see below) who are on hand to support new cyclists in their area.

The event involves a free breakfast at a location on the Oxford Road Corridor, as well as updates, latest news and a chance to meet fellow cyclists.

Cycle Buddies in your area:  Due to the vibrant cycling community that exists on the corridor there are a large number of experienced cyclists who are willing and able to actively support cyclists in their area; this could be a 1:1 ride to or from work (at an agreeable time throughout the year), some local knowledge or general support.

Many Buddies also cycle in for our monthly event and welcome new and current cyclists to join them.

You can find your nearest buddy by clicking anywhere on the map below (not all areas of GM currently covered but new Buddies being added all the time!)

More details from the UMBUG website.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is listed in our cycling events calendar for Greater Manchester. It is not organised by Manchester Friends of the Earth nor the Love Your Bike campaign and does not necessarily reflect their policies. We recommend checking with the organisers in case of a change of time or location.
