Vigil and Ghost Bike installation in memory of Harry Sievey

Harry Sievey was taken far too soon, on the evening of Sunday 12th February 2017, aged just 24. He had been cycling on Mauldeth Road West in Withington, Manchester, and was pronounced dead at the scene, having been involved in a collision with a car.

A vigil will be held on Monday 20th February and a ghost bike will be installed in his memory.

People are invited to assemble by Withington Library from 6:00pm for a 6:15pm start. We expect the event to conclude by 7pm.

We welcome everyone – whether cyclist, pedestrian, motorist or a multimodal traveller – to join us at the vigil to remember Harry Sievey and make a stand for safer roads, investment in cycling facilities, and cleaner air.

Please share the event and spread the word to anyone who may be interested. You can download the event flyer.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is listed in our cycling events calendar for Greater Manchester. It is not organised by Manchester Friends of the Earth nor the Love Your Bike campaign and does not necessarily reflect their policies. We recommend checking with the organisers in case of a change of time or location.
