Have your say on Manchester’s climate plan

take action

Following the international climate agreement in Paris last December, the Manchester Climate Change Agency is consulting on an update to the city’s climate change strategy.

Ahead of the Curve

There are a number of positive things in the draft strategy, including a commitment that:

“Manchester will play its full part in limiting the impacts of climate change… and by 2025 will be on a path to being a zero carbon city by 2050.”

However, some parts of the strategy, and the implementation plan for the next 5 years, currently fail to meet the stated ambition to stay “ahead of the curve”.  For example, the strategy fails to address the carbon impact of plans to double passenger numbers at Manchester Airport.

We’d like to encourage everyone who lives, works or studies in Manchester to respond to the consultation.  You can do this via the Manchester Climate Change website, or using the online action we’ve set up with some suggested points you might like to make.  The consultation closes on Sunday 16th October.

Send in your consultation response today!
