Could you be just the person we're looking for...?
|
Interested
in doing something practical about Climate
Change? We are looking for people to help give out leaflets
on our stalls, talk about climate change to the public, and
go to lobby their MPs to ask them to support a tough Climate
Change Bill. Would you like to help?

We've just
launched a new Waste and Recycling
campaign. We need people to help us with research into recycling
policies, talking to the public about the links between recycling
and energy and launching practical initiatives to recycle more.
Would you like to get involved?

Having launched
our celebrated Real
Food Guide website we are looking for volunteers to help talking
to the organisations in the Guide and finding and researching
new ones to join. Could you help us with our Real
Food campaign?

Having written
a celebrated report on sustainable transport in Longsight
we are now working on a new sustainable transport education project.
We need help designing publicity materials, doing research into
sustainable transport, and liaising
with schools and the public. Can you see yourself helping?

Whatever your background or walk of life, we will find ways of helping
you put your skills and interest in a healthy environment for us all
to good use. As an active member, you might find yourself doing any
of the following:
If you'd like to get involved, we hold full group meetings on the
second Tuesday of every month at 7pm in the Green Fish Resource Centre
on Oldham Street (on the right, just after Hilton Street if you're
walking from Piccadilly Gardens), and sub-group meetings for each of
our campaigns throughout the rest of the month. See our events
calendar
for the exact date of the next meeting.
What
can you expect at a full group meeting?
Anyone is welcome to come along, find out what we do, and hopefully
join in! Alternatively, if you can't make it to a meeting, please
get in touch by e-mail at office@manchesterfoe.org.uk,
or by phone on 0161 234 2974. We look forward to hearing from you!
Become a supporter!
We rely on membership and donations from people like you to
fund our campaigning work. Members are kept up-to-date with our
campaigns through our newsletters
and email list.

for more details about our great discount scheme, and for information
on how to join.

Do a voluntary placement!
Some of our active members get involved with Manchester Friends of
the Earth as part of a course for which they need to get experience.
We can offer training and experience is a variety of areas, such as
editing our newsletter and working with the media. For more information
about this please contact our volunteer
co-ordinator.
