Manchester: New Cycle Stand Opportunities for Parks and Green Spaces

Manchester City Council Parks Team want your suggestions for parks and green spaces that need cycle parking (Sheffield Stands). Deadline for suggestions is 4pm on Wednesday 7th September. See below for details

Cycle parking

Hello,

We wanted to ask for your help to suggest future cycle stand locations in Manchester’s parks and green spaces.

Manchester City Council is part way through delivering a city-wide cycle parking scheme project funded by Clean City money, installing hundreds of new cycle stands across the city to make cycling more convenient. A number of sites for the new cycle stands have been identified ‘on street’ but  we are also looking at the potential of installing stands in ‘off street’ sites such as park and green space locations.

The stands are a standard hoop style (known as ‘Sheffield Stands’) and if you have any suggestions for parks or green spaces that would benefit we would love to hear from you.

Please email your suggestion to parks@manchester.gov.uk and include:

  1. The name and address (road name is fine) of the suggested park / green space
  1. No more than 200 words about why you think this would be a good place to install cycle stands.

In order to be considered, all suggestions must refer to a park or green space and must be received by 4pm on Wednesday 7th September.

Suggestions for multiple Manchester sites are welcome; please provide no more than 200 words for each suggestion.

Please note that as installation of the stands is subject to a number of factors, the submission of a suggestion is not a guarantee that it will be accepted.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Regards,
