Party for the Planet
| When? | Saturday 27th September, 8pm - 2am |
| Where? | Big Hands (near the Academy), Oxford Road |
| Why? | To raise money for Manchester Friends of the Earth |
On Saturday 27th September, some of Manchester's freshest musical talent came together at Big Hands on Oxford Road for the inaugural Party for the Planet.

The event, which was the brainchild of Manchester FoE's fundraising coordinator Jayne Colquhoun, was a showcase for five local bands who kindly agreed to donate their time to help raise funds for the group.

The line-up ranged from solo singer-songwriter Pierre Hall (pictured above) to four-pieces Penumbra Derry and Invincible Counter Offensive.

Mike Sutherland, half of the acoustic duo LovePanda (above right), summed up the feelings of the bands that took part:
"We're always happy to give our time and effort to support charities and organisations which are concerned with the preservation of our planet's resources and the well-being of its inhabitants."
