Your MP needs to hear that you want consumers, farmers and our environment to have the strong protection they need and deserve.
Trade is important, but we don’t want a ‘race to the bottom’ where farmers have to compete with imports of chlorine-dipped chicken, hormone-treated beef or fruit produced with pesticides banned here. Trade deals must be fair to farmers and farm workers, at home and abroad, and support healthy, decent working conditions, environmental protection and good animal welfare.
Parliamentarians should be able to scrutinise and amend trade deals and trade policy but at the moment they can’t.
