The politics of COP and why the process doesn’t deliver Climate Justice – Manchester meeting
This November COP26 will take place in Glasgow. The meeting will bring together thousands of politicians, scientists and political lobbyists. Many have already described this as the “last chance” for the environment.
The politicians there will wring their hands like their predecessors have done for a quarter of a century of COPs and promise to save the world, but little will change. Why does the COP process fail? Why, after nearly three decades of meetings, do emissions continue to rise, despite the signing of agreements at Kyoto, Copenhagen, Cancun, Durban and Paris?
Come to this meeting to understand the limits of COP and what the environmental movement must do to stop runaway climate change.
Speakers to be announced.
