Christian Climate Action (CCA) training day – Manchester

Our first face-to-face training days since pre-covid!

Whether you are new to Christian Climate Action and/or peaceful protest, or an established member, we all need training – first time, or refresher. During the day, we will be covering a range of important topics that offer something for everyone, no matter how long you’ve been in action.

Topics will include:

• What does the Bible say about peaceful civil disobedience?
• A short history of CCA.
• Ways in which you can get more involved in CCA.
• Deciding what kind of action you should take.
• Strategies of non violent protest and civil disobedience.
• Non-violent protest training – first time training for newbies and review and reflection on the challenge of non-violence for those with experience of action.
• Speaking to the press.
• Holding outreach conversations.
• What to do if family and friends are not supportive.

Meet and chat with other like-minded people, hear the experiences of those who have been involved in CCA for some time and find out about forthcoming actions you can get involved in.

REFRESHMENTS AND LUNCH: Tea and coffee will be provided. For lunch, please bring and share. Vegan/vegetarian (if home cooked, please provide a list of ingredients).

TICKETS: CCA is underwriting this event, but contributions towards the running costs of the day – according to your means – are appreciated (suggested £10 per person, but no obligation).
