Better Buses – a Film and Q&A (Bolton Socialist Club)

While trains and trams get a lot of attention, buses make up nearly 80% of public transport journeys in Greater Manchester.
Our buses are not up to scratch currently and we have a huge opportunity over the next year to make them better.

The Better Buses for Manchester campaign is calling on GM Mayor Andy Burnham to improve our buses and bring them under public control. Burnham is making a decision within the next year, so time is short. Meanwhile bus companies are using a lot of resources to lobby against public control.

Speakers from Unite the Union,Pascale Robinson, and film maker Summer Dean (also co-founder of the Association of British Commuters) explore why we’re campaigning for better, publicly controlled buses and how we can win Better Buses for Greater Manchester as part of a much needed improved public transport network.
