Make it Better: Turn the heat up on Apple

take action

It’s time to turn up the heat on Apple. Friends of the Earth supporters have already forced its biggest rival, Samsung, to confirm that it uses forest-trashing tin in its products.  But Apple is still refusing to go public about whether its phones contain tin from Indonesia’s Bangka Island.

Could I be even smarter

Tell Apple to stop giving you the brush off

Apple claims to take “a comprehensive approach to environmental responsibility”. And its website states that “workers everywhere should have the right to safe and ethical working conditions”.

We can’t fault those words. But they’re completely silent on an issue that potentially links their products to life-threatening mining practices and terrible environmental destruction.

Please take two minutes to tell Apple to answer the questions

Together we secured a public commitment from Samsung. Let’s do it again. Apple is already playing catch-up on the high street. Your messages can force it to play catch up on Bangka too.
