Volunteer opportunity: Salford Anti-Fracking Campaigner

Friends of the Earth and Manchester Friends of the Earth are looking for an outstanding community activist to lead our campaign against fracking in Salford.  From Lancashire to Balcombe, Friends of the Earth has been part of movements that have successfully held back fracking in every part of Britain it has been tried. Now we need you to help us do it again in Salford.

We can give you professional training free of charge, 1:1 advice from Friends of the Earth staff, and backup from the biggest Friends of the Earth group in the North.

You would then use your knowledge, alongside your natural diplomacy, passion and campaigning nous to help raise awareness of fracking amongst residents in Salford, act as a bridge between local residents and more experienced environmental activists, and be a link to the wider Friends of the Earth network.

Please email campaignorganisers@foe.co.uk asap with a little bit about yourself, especially previous experience working in the community. If we think you could be who we are looking for, we’ll be in touch.

The position is open to both Manchester Friends of the Earth members and newcomers to Friends of the Earth.

Organisation: Manchester Friends of the Earth / Friends of the Earth EWNI (England, Wales & Northern Ireland)

Location: Manchester / Salford

Hours: Part time

Position type: Volunteer

Closing date: Sunday 10th November 2013.
