Recycled in Dagenham – urgent action to save 120 jobs

Closed Loop Recycling (CLR), a major recycling company in Dagenham, is state of the art. But the future of this innovative plant, and of the 120 people who work there, hangs in the balance.

Tell the big retailers to keep buying recycled plastic – let’s try to save 120 jobs.

Major companies like Tesco and Sainsbury’s are rumoured to be reneging on a voluntary deal they have signed.

Under this deal, 30% of the plastic in their bottles should come from recycled sources.

But as the cost of oil has plunged, there is a danger that dairy companies and retailers will move away from recycled plastic and switch back to using more ‘virgin’  (non-recycled) plastic.

The big retailers must honour their promise to buy recycled plastic – hopefully helping to save jobs and showing there’s a future for CLR.

We only have a few days to save this ground breaking facility.

Please email Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda, Morrisons today.
