Manchester Friends of the Earth response to Pomona Strand planning application

In August 2015, Manchester Friends of the Earth responsed to the planning application to build on Pomona Island. (Planning Application: 85822/FUL/15).
Manchester Friends of the Earth does not support the proposed application on the following planning grounds and our response is arranged in 3 sections, namely:

1. Loss of greenspace and impact on bio-diversity
2. Flood risk / Climate change adaptation.
3. Does the application meet the development requirements outlined in the Trafford Core Strategy?

We believe that the proposed scheme is contrary to Trafford Council’s own policies and will have a wide range of detrimental impacts on green space, bio-diversity, climate change mitigation, air quality and the environment within Trafford.  We would recommend that the application be refused.

Our full response can be downloaded from the Manchester Friends of the Earth Dropbox account (pdf).
