Bike Friday takes part in Heart Month

British Heart Foundation - Time to Get MovingFebruary 2016 is the British Heart Foundation’s Heart Month when each of us is encouraged to think about the health of our heart and take positive steps to reduce our chances of cardiovascular disease.

Increasing activity levels, quitting smoking and eating a healthier diet are some of the steps people can take to reduce their risk of heart disease.

With 33% of men and nearly half of women not reaching the recommended 150 minutes of exercise a week we at Love Your Bike think that cycling to work or the shops can help towards this goal.

This Bike Friday – on the 26th February we will be encouraging people to dress in red and join us on their morning commute into the centre of Manchester (or indeed their own work place) to highlight the health benefits of regular cycling.

The British Heart Foundation offer plenty of advice on exercise as well as other ways to maintain a healthy heart.
