A Small Good Thing (Community Greengrocers, Bolton)
We are a new community greengrocer service based in Smithills, Bolton.
Our aim is Buy Local; Zero Waste. No plastic here
A Small Good Thing is the coming together of Emily and Lisa and the rambling ideas of their tired mum brains. It is, in its initial incarnation, a community Greengrocer service. It has been bourne out of love; for food, for the environment, for people and for each other. And this page is here to chart its progress from our kitchen tables to our community.
The aim of our new, small business is to give our local community easy and convenient access to locally produced food. We believe that good food should be on everyone’s table and good food doesn’t have to cost the earth. So we will be sourcing all our produce ethically and as locally as is possible. We will be supporting other community projects wherever we can and we will operate and promote a zero waste policy. No plastic here.
Our Offer: We plan to bring a selection of loose, seasonal fruit and vegetables to our customers. Because we understand that sometimes it’s hard to know what to do with a bunch of random veg on a Friday night, we also aim to bring recipe inspiration and exciting extras to pimp up your tea.
We have a zero-waste, dried goods offer, to make shopping plastic-free easier. Kinder to the environment and kinder to your slim bin!
And we will be running workshops, events and groups to help bring our community together. So come and say hi and lets us know what Small Good Things you’d like to see happening in our area.
We are open 10am til 4pm, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Come and say hello!
