What to look out for in March in Manchester
At this time of year you should be able to see snow drops and crocus which were starting to flower in parts of Manchester until the snow hit this week.. We have also seen daffodils.. a little early perhaps?
With the recent cold snap there has been a lot of talk about supporting our feathered friends with food, drink and shelter – the RSPB provides some guidance on how to care for birds during winter.

Tips for the garden
March is the last month to plant trees – so make sure you get these in. It is also a good time to plant borage and calendula (after the last frost..) which provide excellent food for bees, and are also great companion plants and gorgeous.
And of course if you grow potatoes, its time to pick up your seed potatoes and start chitting them at home..
