Feeling the heat? Let’s tackle climate change
The effects of climate change are being felt everywhere. A deadly heatwave is sweeping the globe, wildfires have broken out in the Arctic Circle, and record-breaking temperatures have been recorded from Lapland to the Sahara.
In the UK we’ve had the driest start to the summer on record. And across the world the most vulnerable communities are being hit even harder.
Unless we act fast, this could become the new normal. Ask the Prime Minister to make sure the UK does its bit to cut greenhouse gas emissions and keep our planet at a safe temperature.
To: the Prime MinisterThe UK must contribute its fair share of the international effort to make sure that global temperature doesn’t rise more than 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels as a result of climate change. We’re calling on your government to urgently adopt a legally binding target to cut the UK’s net greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2045.
