Don’t let the government fast-track fracking

take action

The government is consulting on whether exploratory drilling for gas should be categorised as ‘permitted development’.

The government wants to class exploratory drilling as ‘permitted development’ – the same category as putting up a garden shed. This would mean fracking companies could drill across the English countryside without the need to apply for planning permission.

There are so many reasons why this policy belongs in the bin. By speeding up fracking, it would trample on local democracy, threaten the climate, and scar the countrysideWhat issue matters most for you?

Now is your chance. Stand with local communities and tell the government what you think of its crazy plans.

Yes, I’ll respond to the consultation.

and while you are here!

Please ask your councillors to oppose fast-tracking fracking

See the Friends of the Earth briefing ‘Fast-track fracking: why “non-fracking
drilling” should not be treated as permitted development’ for more details.
