The talks ended with weak action and gaping holes in the rule book for meeting climate targets

Reacting to the conclusion of the UN climate talks in Poland, Friends of the Earth’s director of campaigns, Liz Hutchins said:

“Despite the threat of catastrophic climate change hanging heavily over the planet, this conference failed to respond to the emergency with anything like the scale and pace of action needed. “The talks ended with weak action and gaping holes in the rule book for meeting climate targets. “Wealthy nations most responsible for causing climate pollution, and most able to tackle this crisis, are still too slow to slash their own emissions – and are shirking paying up to help poorer countries cut pollution and protect themselves from the impacts of climate breakdown.”
