Ask your council to be a climate leader

At the Mayor’s Green Summit in March 2018, Andy Burnham announced his ambition for Greater Manchester to be ‘carbon neutral’ by 2038.

This target informed by a report from the highly respected Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research.  The report concluded that our remaining carbon budget is 71 million tonnes of CO2 – which means emissions need to halve in the next five years and fall to zero by 2038.

Now, we need to encourage the ten councils in Greater Manchester to back the Mayor’s ambition by adopting the Tyndall Centre’s carbon budget and drawing up an action plan to deliver the necessary carbon reductions.

Please help persuade your council to be a climate leader by sending an email to the council leader using the form below.
