Local elections 2019…. will the environment win? #LE2019

take action

Across Greater Manchester people will have the opportunity to vote for local council candidates on Thursday 2nd May.

Election Survey 2019Ahead of polling day, Manchester Friends of the Earth are asking all local council candidates standing in the election to let people know their views on a range of key environment issues.

The local councillors elected will have to implement solutions to meet many social and environmental challenges during the next 5 years and beyond. These include rising transport & energy costs, traffic congestion, illegal levels of air pollution, ill health, low levels of physical activity and the urgent need to drastically reduce climate-wrecking emissions.

We wouldn’t dream of telling people which way to vote but we think voters have the right to know where candidates stand on key environmental issues that will affect all our lives, such as climate change and air pollution.

There are three ways to view the results: for individual candidates, political parties, and the areas of Greater Manchester. You can also view the full list of questions, including background information.
