Stop the Government giving developers free rein
The Government is consulting on plans to extend Permitted Development Rights, allowing developers to convert offices, factories and shops into housing without planning permission.
This will prevent us from having a say on developments in our local communities, and prevent councils from setting standards for quality, affordability and energy efficiency.
It also means developers will no longer have to contribute to the cost of local services such as roads, schools and medical centres.
Giving developers free rein will hinder efforts to tackle the climate emergency and create healthier, more diverse and more resilient communities.
