Actions for November/ December
Help with our Weekly Digest
Do you have a few hours to spare once or twice a month?
Each week we produce an email which provides a list of upcoming local green events, online actions we can take and environmental news we think is worth reading.
Putting this together involves finding suitable online actions, news and events and preparing the email. We would love help with any of these elements and training can be provided.

Contacting your MP
As a group we often write to and talk to our MPs about environmental issues we are concerned about. With almost 30 MPs in Greater Manchester we are keen to cover as many constituency areas as possible. Can you help out?
We are particularly keen to hear from people who live in Bolton West, Bury North, Cheadle, Heywood / Middleton and Leigh, and Altrincham/ Sale West. But all welcome!
About every 1-2 months we would ask you to email your MP regarding a particular campaign ask. We would provide the letter template and background information. If you were really keen and had time we might also ask you to arrange to meet with your MP. Again we could provide training and support with this if you would like it.
If you would like to know more or add your name to the list, please get in touch.
Over the next few months we will be asking people to write to and/ or visit their MP to discuss the new Planet Over Profit campaign and the need for a new UK law on business, human rights and the environment.
Join our United for Warm Homes campaign
The United for Warm Homes campaign focusses on the need for us all to have warm homes that we can afford to heat. They are calling for immediate support for those most vulnerable, as well as long term solutions to our energy crisis – retrofitting and renewable energy programmes. For more information see the United for Warm Homes campaign website.
If you would like to join us calling for action on these important issues, please get in touch.
The Real Food Guide
We host the Greater Manchester Real Food Guide and are currently working on a project with Manchester University to identify cafes and restaurants in the area that would like to calculate the carbon foot print of their recipes and share these with diners. If you would like to make some suggestions please get in touch.
And we are always on the look out for your sustainable recipes we can share on the website to inspire others! Please email with your ideas 🙂 office[at]manchesterfoe.org.uk
