Tell your MP we don’t want Bad Food Britain now. Taking back control means that we should keep sensible standards that are already in place, and work in future to make them even better when we leave Europe.
We don’t believe that by design, or by default, standards that help to ensure the food we eat is safe, sustainable and healthy should be at risk
This would be a bad result. The Great Repeal Bill and other related bills must secure important existing food standards, to avoid the risk of harm such as:
- Meat being poorly checked for disease or contamination
- Pesticides currently banned being used on our fruit and vegetables
- Treasured nature and wildlife being damaged by farming practices
- Unsubstantiated health and provenance claims appearing on food labels
- Precious fish stocks becoming endangered through over-fishing.
MPs need to hear from you that you care about keeping good food standards and about developing great British food, farming and fishing policies to protect us and the environment that we rely on and cherish.
