Question 1
Climate Change
Do you agree that Greater Manchester should adopt the Tyndall Centre’s science-based carbon budgets, set targets to halve the region’s emissions in the next five years and become carbon neutral by 2038?

Yes

Climate change is 'the' global issue of our time. We have to step up and play our part here in Greater Manchester and reduce emissions in the short term and become carbon neutral by 2038.

Question 2
Divestment from Fossil Fuels
Do you agree that the Greater Manchester Pension Fund should fully divest from fossil fuels in the next five years?

Yes

I agree that public sector pension funds of all kinds should be ethically invested and also look at divesting away from fossil fuel companies in the timescales being campaigned for. Pension funds should have a co-operative stakeholder and ethos on their boards and in their decision making processes.

Question 3
Walking and Cycling
Will you support your local council allocating funding to implement the walking and cycling (active travel) measures contained in Chris Boardman's ‘Made to Move’ report?

Yes

Yes, I fully support the Made to Move initiative and strategy and believe MCC should invest in that strategy for the health of our City and region.

Question 4
Air Quality
Will you call on your local council to introduce ‘parking exclusion zones’ around local schools at peak times?

Yes

Yes, as a local governor at Old Moat Primary School for 12 years, I see the impact of this in our local area. I am already an active campaigner for safety outside schools in terms of parking and speed of traffic. We also need measures like this to tackle environmental air pollution too for our children as well.

Question 5
Biodiversity
Will you support a ban on the use of neonicotinoid pesticides in your local council area and work to phase out the use of other pollinator-harming pesticides?

Yes

Yes, this should be halted in Manchester. Bees are so inportant to our Eco System as a while.

Question 6
Plastics
Will you support the phase-out of single-use plastics in your local authority by 2020?

Yes

Yes, MCC have already passed a motion on this issue in March 2018 which I fully support.

Question 7
Aviation
Will you support the introduction of a cap on emissions from flights to and from Manchester Airport?

Yes

Yes, tackling air pollution for air flights will be a key issue of our time in us tackling climate change fully.

Question 8
Energy Efficiency
Do you support the introduction of a GM-wide building standard for all new developments to be zero-carbon and climate resilient?

Yes

Yes, we should have much more devolved power in GM on issues like this.
