Local Election Survey 2018 – Candidates
We’re surveying candidates in Greater Manchester for the 2018 election. Find out more about the survey.
Below is a summary of the responses across the areas of Greater Manchester. Where a candidate has already responded, you can see their response. If your candidates haven’t yet responded, follow the Twitter link to ask them to!
processClimate Change
If anything we should be more ambitious and look towards aiming for 2035.
Divestment from Fossil Fuels
Undecided
I am not aware of the financial setup of this pension fund so I am unable to comment if divesting from fossil fuels on these grounds would be practical.
Walking and Cycling
Manchester should become one of the worlds cycling cities. Some glow from the 2012 Olympics has been retained but this initiative should build up on this.
Air Quality
Not just for pollution. Residents around schools have to deal with the school time rush making it very unpleasant. Children should be, where it is practical, encouraged to walk to school.
Biodiversity
Plastics
Totally support and will campaign for this if elected to council. Prevention of litter is one of my areas of interest having help establish many litter pick groups around Trafford.
Aviation
Broadly yes, but this has to be handled sensibly without impacting the area economically.
Energy Efficiency
Happy to campaign on this if elected to council.
