I attended the recent Green Summit and am reasonably familiar with the science related to carbon, global warming and with the objectives of the Paris Agreement
Divestment from Fossil Fuels
These funds should be directed to the development of renewable technologies and to investing in the infrastructure to make them the default energy supply
Walking and Cycling
We need to work towards walking and cycling being the preferred travel choice for all ages and abilities. The benefits are indisputable in terms of air pollution, general health, community cohesion etc
Air Quality
Such a policy must contain exemptions for individuals according to need. Schools and other educational establishments set life habits!
Biodiversity
The evidence around the effects of mass pesticides administration is becoming clearer by the day. Pollinators are essential to the functionality of eco systems and food chains yet they are declining at an alarming rate! Of course local councils must lead on the elimination of pesticides
Plastics
This really should be an easy win as the general public are so on board. Any phasing out should be very short as alternatives already exist so there is no reason not to act on this immediately
Aviation
Energy Efficiency
There is no reason not to act on this immediately as the necessary technology and materials exist to do this right now. It should apply to all new building
