Basic cycle maintenance [Bury]

Beat the bike shop queues with our friendly, informative & CV19 safe bike fixing classes.

Our Cycle Maintenance starter course will give you the knowledge to check your bike is safe to ride and enable you to cope if you have a problem whilst out and about. It is best to bring your own bike but let us know if you need one providing. The course lasts around two hours and our qualified instructor might cover;

What the parts of your bike are – and what they do
Things you should check before each ride
Simple adjustments – e.g. brakes and gears to make sure they work smoothly and safely
Tools you might need and how to use them
How to mend punctures
Cleaning and lubrication
Ticketing, terms & conditions and coronavirus awareness

Whilst Transport for Greater Manchester’s focus is to provide you with help and support whilst you and your family get to have fun on your bikes, we can only do this if you agree to follow the current coronavirus guidelines, be responsible and respectful of others and by working collaboratively with your course instructor.

Our course providers/instructors have worked hard to adapt training, hopefully without detriment to the course and its content.

If we all play our part, useful, enjoyable cycling is only a pedal away!

All tickets can be bought online from our official ticket agent, Eventbrite. Booking fees are already included in your discounted ticket price of £5.

Places are limited so please book online

PLEASE NOTE: This event is listed in our cycling events calendar for Greater Manchester. It is not organised by Manchester Friends of the Earth nor the Love Your Bike campaign and does not necessarily reflect their policies. We recommend checking with the organisers in case of a change of time or location.
