Starting from the car park at Halfords on Manchester Road we pick up the cycle path that takes us over St Peter’s Way and all the way Leverhulme Park, from there we will head towards Bradley Fold where we will pick up the cycle path towards Radcliffe.

From Radcliffe we travel along the canal path passing by Elton Reservoir and Bury Grammar School. There we continue on the cycle path which takes us all the way to the Burrs County Park. When we arrive at the Burrs there is a choice of either the Brown Cow or a café so that we can to enjoy a coffee and perhaps a nice toasted tea cake or even better if, a cake before we return to our starting point. This route gently meanders along new cycle paths that are flat and welcoming and takes in some roads towards Bury. At points the canal tow path is cobbled, and round Elton reservoir is quite uneven, the paths are much more suitable for thicker tyres.
