Climate Change: Heading for Extinction public talk in Rochdale (hosted by Extinction Rebellion North and Rochdale Parish Churches of St Chad’s, St Mary’s and St Edmund’s)
The planet is in ecological crisis: we are in the midst of the sixth mass extinction event.
Scientists believe we have entered a period of abrupt climate breakdown. This is an unprecedented global emergency. Our children and our nation face grave risk.
In this public talk, members of Extinction Rebellion will share the latest climate science, discuss the current psychology around climate change and offer solutions through the study of social movements.
NOTE: the event is at St Chad’s Church, which is the ancient parish church of Rochdale and is located at the top of the steps above the famous Town Hall. There are good transport links to the town centre bus or tram terminus, and railway station, all of which are just a short walk away. People of all faiths or none are most welcome.
