Climate Justice: Keep Calm and Plant More Trees! (hosted by University of Manchester Students’ Union)
Keep calm and join our tree-planting workshop, where you will get to choose from a variety of tree seedlings to plant in pots and take home to watch grow.
Open to anyone, this will be a drop-in session in the Hive (first floor of the SU). The workshop is free but we ask for a small donation to go towards City of Trees to help plant a tree for every citizen of Greater Manchester. You can choose from walnuts, acorns, wild pear, horse chestnut and more, or a mixture of them all! We’d recommend planting around 5-10 seedlings, but you can plant more if you wish (so it’s best to come early to ensure you get a good choice!)
Please bring something to plant your seedlings in, for example an empty tin can or an old plastic mushroom tub. We will have a few of these to spare but not enough to go round!
We will also be showing a short film about the National Tree Charter, along with a talk from a guest speaker.
